Starlight Express
I'm getting a group together for Starlight Express on Sunday 5th July at 6pm. There are no trackside groups available but there is A reserve. Including the booking price, it's $100 a ticket, which *is* pretty steep, but worth it I think. I'm aiming to book at the end of this week, so get to me asap, please. :) |

Regan's Play
So, my fabulous gal-pal, Regan, is starring in a play at Porirua Little Theatre and I'm going to go on closing night (Sat 28/3/09) Some info: http://www.iticket.co.nz/eventdetails.asp?eventvenue_id=1263Muggle, Beau and I are going to go on a table together, but I thought I'd check to see if anyone else wants to go with us before I book. Not really an Update
Just thought some of you might like to know that we're in Paris. Waiting to meet up with TP and sokky. We're sharing a hotel room (more like suite!) with them Beau and I voted today! I also lost my hat, which I only bought like 4 days ago. What. a. gyp. *mwah* Currently behind on posting by 5 cities. d'oh. At least Luxembourg City was small. |

Parcels!
Went to visit my c/o buddy, Homebody, and I had 2 parcels. One was my order of hipsters from Thunderpants (super comfy and hard wearing so perfect for backpacking when laundry may get chucked into hostel dryers). The other was chocolate from Sok!! Yum! 2 flavours I haven't tried and I def like them both. The postcard was also much appreciated. We're currently staying with 2 Kiwis (who have lived in Wgtn) and the "Wellington Design" photos were found to be amusing by all. Yays. Schoc chocolate is seriously some of the best in the WORLD. I know, I'm there ;) Edited to add:Later that evening, Beau and I went to our old flat to again check for mail and I had a postcard from Jenni! Squeee! I loves me my snail mail :) Thanks Sok and Jenni :) |

Everything changes and stays the same
Yeah, I posted this yesterday. The gist is that we have decided to move out of our flat even earlier, at the end of *this* month. So, any post and stuff that isn't going to arrive in the next 2 1/2 weeks will have to be sent care of friends of ours. This is totally ok and possible. Yay for July Babies! My BFF Bean just had a baby girl, 8 pounds 4. She was 2 weeks overdue and Bean was going to be induced tomorrow. I get to be a faux Auntie again! I'm so smiley right now. |

One of the DAs has realised that I type much faster than he does and has been giving me screeds of hand-written notes to type up. It's nice to have something useful to do (I haven't forgotten your editing Beau! I'll do more today), plus he buys me Cokes. :) Here are some things I think worth linking to and why. New Zealand swim-wear label Ginger Lover. I was first pointed to these beautiful vintage styled swimsuits by the now defunct Special Knives blog. I keep going back though, to look at them and drool. Their sheer pretty almost convinces me that buying togs online is not a bad idea. They have ruffle-backed bikini bottoms!!! Dr Horrible's Tea of Evil is a black tea blend. The company Adagio Teas also has a range of "Serenitea" inspired teas! The Kaylee looks especially num. I don't know if you can get in NZ though :( The Tor website is giving away free books in various digital formats. I think for this week only though. I may have downloaded many for later perusal. Mmm, bookses. The same page also has links to downloadable cover art. And now a special something for those who love things both crafty and geeky, Geek Central Station is an etsy seller who makes geeky, geeky amigurumi, aka incredibly cute crocheted toys. More on our weekend - posted as a comment in my other journal
Homebody is fine. He has this awesome cast/ thumb guard thing. It was actually pretty funny. We were inside chilling and he was outside bouncing and Neid was watching him. She came in to see what we were up to and then he wandered in grinning and was all "Hey, is there a Dr in the house?" and showed us his really weird looking hand. I thought he was having us on, as y'know, some people can do weird things with their fingers. He told me later he was grinning as he got to make a joke about Beau being in the house and also, Woah, my hand looks freaky! It didn't hurt. Beau and I seriously had an awesome time. We caught the train to X+'s place in the country on Saturday evening, drank beer and then baileys, played cards and watched "Spaced" (really cool and funny uk tv series) until 3.30am on Sunday morning. Then we got up at about 10.30 to X+'s aunt making us a cooked breakfast! The others didn't show up until 2.30pm and the trampoline incident was about 6.30pm. I think Homebody looks at the whole experience as fodder for his writing! |

A series of unfortunate events x-posted
1) While jumping up and down on a trampoline, Homebody dislocates his thumb. 2) On the way to the hospital, they encounter a huge traffic jam due to a horse fair on the next day. 3) On leaving the hospital, Neid, in the car, during the rain, through her hoodie, is stung by a wasp. Basically, we had a great time in the country! :) Point of Fashion: No time to think. Current Obsession: sleepy Also, does anyone have either the time to make me an animated gif LJ icon (I have the pics for it) or an easy tutorial for me to do it myself. |
